European Ceramic Society Awards
Ms Fatemeh Pishbin (PhD student supervised by Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini and Dr. Mary Ryan (Imperial College London) was awarded a Trust of the Journal of the European Ceramic Society grant valued at 500 Euro to attend the 4th International Conference on Shaping of Advanced Ceramics” held in Madrid on 16th-18th November 2009. At the conference, Fatemah won the second prize in the Student Contest for her poster/short oral presentation entitled Progress in the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of bioactive glass and bioactive glass-biopolymer composite coatings. In addition, her paper was selected for publication in a special issue related to the Conference to be published in the J Europ Ceram Soc.
