Prof. Boccaccini: invited speaker in San Diego, USA
Prof. Boccaccini presented the invited talk “Bioactive glasses exhibiting controlled therapeutic ion release for bone regeneration” in Symposium 24: Nanostructured Bioceramics and Ceramics for Biomedical Applications, at the PacRim 10 Conference in Ceramic and Glass Technology held in San Diego (USA) on 2-7 June 2013. Prof. Boccaccini was also co-organiser of the Symposium “Glasses and Ceramics for Nuclear and Hazardous Waste Treatment” at PacRim 10, where he presented the paper “Progress in the development of glass-ceramics from silicate waste focusing on functional materials” a contributed paper in collaboration with C. Rama Krishna Satish and Dr. Enrico Bernardo (University of Padova, Italy), in the framework of Glacerco ITN EU project.
Prof. Boccaccini was also invited to speak at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering on 5th June, where he presented the talk “Bioactive Nanostructured 3D-scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering”. (Click images to enlarge)
