BIOSCENT Meeting in Brussels
The final meeting of the EU FP7 project BIOSCENT, which investigated biomaterial based approaches to control stem cell recruitment, proliferation and differentiation for cardiovascular engineered tissues, was held on 11-13 February 2013 in Brussels. The participation of the Institute of Biomaterials (Dr. Ranjana Rai, Ms Marwa Tallawi, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini) led to the development of novel functionalised and structured polymer cardiac patches, which were characterized in vitro and in vivo by project partners at the University of Parma (Italy). In the image, Dr. Elisabetta Rosellini (project coordinator) of University of Pisa, Italy, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and Ms Marwa Tallawi (PhD student). A recent publication of our research results is available (see below), other publications have been submitted.
