Visit of Prof. J. F. Mano
Prof. Joao. F. Mano, a member of the Department of Polymer Engineering and of the 3B’s Research Group at University of Minho, Portugal, visited our Institute on 7th February 2014. Prof. Mano was the invited speaker of the 9th Scientific Seminar of the Emerging Fields Initiative (EFI) project “TOPbiomat“. We have collaborations with Prof. Mano in the field of bioactive glass-polymer composites, a recent joint paper has been published [1]. In addition, Prof. J. Mano together with Prof. A. R. Boccaccini, Prof. Aranzazu del Campo (Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany) and Prof. Enrica Verne (Polytechnic of Turin, Italy) were the guest co-editors of the special issue: “Materials for Healthcare Applications” Symposium, EUROMAT 2011, published in Biomedical Materials.
