European Society for Biomaterials Conference in Liverpool
Our Institute had a strong participation at the 26th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB) held in Liverpool on 31st August-3rd September 2014. Professor Boccaccini was a member of the International Advisory Committee of the conference and he chaired two sessions dedicated to Bone and to Bioglass, respectively. He presented the lecture “Bioactive Glasses to Stimulate Angiogenesis” at the “Advances in Bioactive Glasses” Symposium, the lecture “Collagen(I)-poly(glycerol sebacate)/poly(butylene succinate-dilinoleate) fibrous scaffolds for cardiac tissue engineering” and the poster entitled “Soft-matrices based on Keratin/Alginate for regenerative medicine” showing results of our TOPbiomat project funded by the Emerging Fields Initiative of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Other participants from our Institute were Wei Li, Anahi Philippart, Preethi Balasubramanian and Yaping Ding (who all presented oral contributions), Valentina Miguez-Pacheco and Bapi Sarker who presented posters and Dr Judith A. Roether (Institute of Polymer Materials). Our former Master student T. Qazi, now at Charite-Berlin and visiting PhD student Julian Bejarano Narvaez (University of Chile) were also present. All participants of our group are pictured below. (Click images to enlarge)
