6th International Workshop on Advanced Ceramics (IWAC-06) in Erlangen
The 6th International Workshop on Advanced Ceramics (IWAC-06) was held in Erlangen on 28-30 September.
The symposium was chaired by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and co-chaired by Prof. Peter Greil (Institute of Glass and Ceramics). This series of international workshops, which started in 2004, brings together senior researchers, young scientists and students from 4 leading universities engaged in ceramics research, namely: Nagoya Institute of Technology (Japan), University of Limoges (France), Imperial College London (UK) and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). More than 70 participants attended the 6th edition of IWAC held in Erlangen. Topics presented and discussed were in the broad field of advanced ceramics (and glass) research, with focus on processing and characterisation of advanced ceramic materials for applications in the energy, transportation and biomedical sectors. There was also a poster presentation contest for students. The program of IWAC-06 involved invited speakers, contributed oral presentations and posters and it can be found here. The 7th edition of IWAC will be held in Limoges, France, in 2016. (Click images to enlarge)
