EU project ReBioStent: meeting in Turin
The progress meeting of the FP7 Europan project “Reinforced Bioresorbable Biomaterials for Therapeutic Drug Eluting Stents” (ReBioStent) took place in Turin (Italy) on 15-16 October 2014. This project is part of FP7 Theme “Biomaterials for Advanced Therapies and Medical Devices in the neurological/neuromuscular or cardiovascular fields”. The project is developing a resorbable cardiovascular stent that should replace current state of the art stents. Our institute is involved in the synthesis and characterisation of a range of suitable functionalised nanomaterials for fabrication of biodegradable stents. The team of our Institute participating in this project is formed by Ms Abirami Sengottuvelan, Ms Elena Boccardi (PhD students) and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, pictured with Dr. Xiang Zhang (Lucideon, UK) and Dr. Ipsita Roy (University of Westminster, UK), coordinators of the project. (Click images to enlarge)
