BioBone Project meeting in Mons, Belgium
The progress meeting of the EU Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) BioBone project was held in Mons, Belgium, on 20-21 October, 2014. The BioBone network has as main objective the training of young researchers in the strategic area of bioceramics for bone repair. The members of the Institute of Biomaterials participating in the BioBone network are Preethi Balasubramanian and Valentina Miguez-Pacheco (PhD students) and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (pictured). Our research focuses on the development of advanced bioactive glass scaffolds following several strategies to incorporate functionalities into “standard” 3D scaffold structures fabricated by the foam replica method.
