Visit of Prof. Wendelin J. Stark, ETH Zurich
Prof. Wendelin J. Stark, Functional Materials Laboratory, Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, visited our Institute on 28th April 2015. Invited by Prof. A. R. Boccaccini, Prof. Stark presented the Materials Science Colloquium SS2015 at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, with the title: “Medical applications of nanoparticles – from research to commercial use“. We have been collaborating with Prof. Stark’s group, including Dr Dirk Mohn, for more than 8 years [1], which started with Prof. Boccaccini’s group based at Imperial College London, specifically in the field of nanoscale bioactive glasses produced in Prof. Stark laboratory. Our latest publication relates to the bioreactivity of Sr-doped bioactive glass nanoparticles [2].
