Professor Boccaccini at first FAU’s Brown Bag Break
The first Brown Bag Break (BBB) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), under the heading “Networking for hungry researchers”, was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering on 10th July 2015. BBB has been recently established at FAU with the aim to stimulate the exchange between young researchers up to the doctorate level enabling networking, information about assistance by the university and sharing of experiences with senior academics in an informal atmosphere. The activity was opened by Prof. Peter Greil (Deputy Dean for Research and International Relations of the Faculty of Engineering) and it was attended by international and German young researchers based at FAU. Prof. Boccaccini was one of the invited speakers together with Prof. Sanna Virtanen (pictured with Prof. Boccaccini) and Prof. Kyle G. Webber (both at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering) and Prof. Nicolas Vogel (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering). Prof. Boccaccini reported on his career, highlighting his experiences and emphasizing the importance of networking and of interdisciplinary and international contacts in research activities. He has also referred to some these topics in a previous video interview. (Click images to enlarge)
