ABIEST Scientific Wokshop in Erlangen
The 2nd Scientific Workshop of the Argentinean-Bavarian Initiative on Science, Technology and Innovation in Environmental Science and Technology (ABIEST) was held on 7-8 December 2015 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, coordinated by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and Prof. Rita Hilliges (Augsburg University of Applied Sciences). The 2nd ABIEST workshop was held with the support of the Bavarian University Centre for Latin America (BAYLAT). Prof. Andrea Pagni, director of BAYLAT opened the meeting. Participants of different Bavarian Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences with interest in the field of Environmental Science and Technology and a representative of UmweltCluster Bavaria attended the meeting, as well as two representatives of ABIEST in Argentina, Dr. Alicia Ronco, Environmental Research Centre CIMA, National University of La Plata and Dr. Teodoro Stadler, Instituto de Medicina y Biología Experimental de Cuyo (IMBECU), CONICET, Mendoza, Argentina. ABIEST was established in April 2013 under leadership of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, as the instrument of interaction between Argentinean and Bavarian researchers in the field of environmental science and technology. ABIEST is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovative Production (MinCyT) of Argentina and the Bavaria State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts. Prof. Boccaccini’s presentation was entitled: “New Functional and Structural Materials from Industrial Residues”. The full program of the Workshop is available here. In the pictures, Prof. R.
