Prof. Boccaccini at West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, Poland
On 21-23 November 2018 Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini visited the Division of Functional Materials and Biomaterials, Polymer Institute, at West Pomeranian University of Technology (ZUT), Szczecin, Poland. The visit was hosted by Prof. Mirosława El Fray, Head of Division, Director of Polymer Institute and Director of the Nanotechnology Centre at ZUT.
We collaborate with Prof. El Fray’s research group in the framework of the DAAD-PPP funded project “Fabrication and mechanical characterization of electrospun mats for cardiac tissue engineering”. Prof. Boccaccini presented the seminar “Bioinks containing reactive fillers in biofabrication approaches”.
Our collaboration with Prof. El Fray started in 2005 [1], when Prof. El Fray was a recipient of a Royal Society fellowship at Imperial College London (UK) and Prof. Boccaccini was based at the Department of Materials, Imperial College London. From that time, several collaborative activities, joint research projects and students/staff exchanges have been performed. The results of the collaborative research have been published in several papers and presented at numerous international conferences.
