Dr. Jingjing Wu, former visiting PhD student in our Institute, receives 2019 Acta Student Award
We are happy to report that Dr. Jingjing Wu, former visiting PhD student in our Institute (2018), was one of the recipients of the prestigious 2019 Acta Student Award. The team of judges consisting of editors of the journals Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, Acta Biomaterialia and Materialia evaluated nominees for the awards. Several factors are considered in the evaluation, including the quality of the paper (published in an Acta journal), recommendation letters, and leadership potential. Jingjing received the award for her paper: “Thermally triggered injectable chitosan/silk fibroin/bioactive glass nanoparticle hydrogels for in-situ bone formation in rat calvarial bone defects,” Acta Biomaterialia 91 (2019) 60-71, which features the results of our collaboration with Jingjing (as visiting PhD student working with Dr. Kai Zheng in our lab.), her supervisor Prof. Ying Wan and other colleagues at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Jingjing is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Zhao Laboratory), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Congratulations to Jingjing from all of us at Biomaterials Erlangen!
