Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence: Successful online “Summer” School hosted by the FAU Institute of Biomaterials
Dr. Liliana Liverani and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini organized the first edition of the BBCE Summer School 2020 (23-27 November 2020), which tool place remotely. The Summer School, focused on scientific writing and publishing, is an annual event organized by the Institute of Biomaterials (FAU) as advanced partner of the BBCE (Baltic Biomaterial Center of Excellence)project and is directed to PhD students and early career scientists based at the different universities and research centres in Latvia. Presentations of editors from different publishers and journals were given, who talked about scientific paper writing and the peer-reviewing process, there was also a session on grant writing, with direct experience from EU grant awardees and a practical session for the attendees, who prepared rapid fire presentations. The School finished with a session about English for academic writing. We thank all the speakers and attendees for the interactive and fruitful participation.
