Successful organisation of the BBCE Summer School 2021
In the context of our participation as international partner in the Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence (BBCE), a Horizon 2020 EU funded Teaming project, Dr. Liliana Liverani and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini organised the second edition of the Summer School on 18-22 October 2021, on “Scientific writing and publishing”. This is an annual event organized by the Institute of Biomaterials (FAU) for BBCE, originally planned to be in person in Erlangen, but, for the second time, organísed remotely. During the School we had talks from representatives of different scientific publishers about scientific paper writing also with focus on figures, and the peer-reviewing process. Moreover, during the practical session, the attendees prepared and presented oral presentations (12 minutes and 3 minutes Q&A session). A workshop on English for academic writing was also organised, with interactive parts and personalized feedback to a selected number of attendees.
