The first meeting of the Erlangen PhD students in the second funding period of the Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR 225 ‘From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models’ was held on 27th April at the Institute of Biomaterials, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Being the first meeting, it was hosted  by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Erlangen spokesperson of TRR/SFB 225. The Centre has received funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a second funding period (2022-2025). The research activities in TRR225 are based on collaborations among researchers based in three universities in northern Bavaria (University of Würzburg, University of Bayreuth and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg) to investigate fundamentals of biofabrication aiming at developing functional human tissue models in a 12-year perspective.
