Honorary Doctorate conferred on Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini in Finland
The degree of Honorary Doctor of Philosophy was conferred on Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini at Åbo Akademi University (ÅAU), Turku, Finland. The Honorary Doctor degree is in recognition of his successful research in biomaterials and his collaboration with Åbo Akademi University. Specifically, Prof. Boccaccini is engaged in research collaboration with the Johan Gadolin Process Chemistry Centre at ÅAU in the research area of bioactive glasses and composites. An Honorary Doctorate is conferred by the university in recognition of the person’s scientific merits or substantial contributions in society. Prof. Boccaccini said: “This is a tremendous honour and I am thankful to everyone who has accompanied my career so far at all levels; mentors, colleagues, research collaborators and students. I look forward to expand my collaborations with the colleagues at ÅAU in the near future”. The conferral ceremony took place in Turku on Friday, 20 May 2022.
