Our Institute was present at Erlangen event to celebrate UN International Year of Glass 2022
On 1st July 2022, our Institute participated at the event organised at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, to celebrate the United Nations International Year of Glass 2022. The event was organised by Prof. D. De Ligny (Chair for Glass and Ceramics) (pictured with Prof. Boccaccini) and attracted a wide audience from inside and outside the University. Dr. Judith Roether, affiliated with the FAU Chair for Polymer Materials and visiting researcher at the Institute of Biomaterials, presented the talk “Glass in the body: from bone implants to wound healing”. Our Institute had also a stand demonstrating the applications of glass in medicine.
