Successful Indo-German Workshop on biomaterials and implants for dental, cranio-maxillofacial reconstruction and bone regeneration co-chaired by Prof. Boccaccini
The Indo-German Workshop BIODENT, “Design and manufacturing of biomaterials and implants for dental, cranio-maxillofacial reconstruction and bone regeneration”, co-chaired by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU) and Prof. Bikramjit Basu (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore), was successfully held on 13-15 February 2023 at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Institute of Biomaterials, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The program featured an impressive list of invited and contributed speakers from India and Germany, with a total of 11 sessions, including three sessions dedicated to presentations of young scientists. In addition to presentations coming from academia, the programme involved also special sessions with clinicians and with speakers coming from industry. From our Institute Dr. Farnaz Ghorbani (post-doctoral research fellow) and Ms Marcela Arango-Ospina (PhD student), Dr. Rainer Detsch and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini gave oral presentations. The Workshop was sponsored by the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC) and endorsed by the American Ceramic Society (ACerS). The Young Scientists session involved a “best lecture” competion that led to three prizes, sponsored by the Germany Chapter of ACerS.
