New multifunctional 3D printer at the Institute of Biomaterials
In the framework of new investments in advanced equipment for our Institute, we were happy to receive recently our new 3D printer with multifunctional capabilities. This 3D printer will expand our laboratory infrastructure to carry out the different projects in which we are involved related to the application of 3D printing and biofabrication in different areas of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Prof. Boccaccini said: “we are happy to increase our experimental options in the field of biofabrication. This device is particularly important as it has the capability to 3D print both cell laden hydrogels and biopolymers, as well as ink-jet printing, to develop 3D tissue models, which is at the center of our contributions to the CRC/TRR 225 consortium: “From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models”.
