Visits from Brazil (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica and Federal University of Sao Paulo)
On 13-18 Nov. 2023 we received the visit of Prof. Gilmar Patrocinio Thim, from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica, Sao Paulo, Brazil, in in the framework of the CAPES/DAAD PROBRAL bilateral project entitled “Advanced Manufacturing of Multifunctional Scaffolds: Synthesis, Processing, and Biological Evaluation”. We discussed with Prof. Thim the expansion of our collaboration in the field of bioactive glasses for multifunctional scaffolds. He visited the laboratories of the Institute of Biomaterials, and he also met the current visitors within the project FAU-UFSC. Also, specific tasks of the bilateral project on multifunctional scaffolds were discussed with Marcela Arango and Zoya Hadzhieva (PhD students at the Institute of Biomaterials). We received also the visit of Ms Ana Paula Nogueira Alves, PhD student at Federal University of Sao Paulo (Universidade Federal de São Paulo) (Unifesp). She will be a long-term visitor of our Institute and will carry out her doctoral project on bioactive glass functionalised scaffolds under the co-supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU) and Prof. Eliandra de Sousa Trichês from Unifesp.
