End-of-Year meeting and Christmas Dinner at the Institute of Biomaterials
The End-of-Year meeting and Christmas Dinner of the Institute of Biomaterials was held on 12th December 2023 with the presence of staff, students and guests of our Institute. Prof. Boccaccini summarized in his presentation the main achievements and activities of the Institute in 2023. He highlighted the success in terms of acquisition of funding, publication of high impact papers (>90 in 2023) and important participation in major international conferences with contributed, invited and keynote talks. He also highlighted the awards and recognitions obtained by several members of the Institute during 2023. He also remarked the successful organization of several scientific and dissemination events, including the organisation of the Indo-German Workshop BIODENT, co-chaired by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (FAU) and Prof. Bikramjit Basu (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore) in February, the organisation of the 1-week Summer School of the Collaborative Research Center TRR225 in July and our participation in the “Long Night of the Sciences” in October. This adds to the several activities organised in collaboration with our partners at FunGlass (Trencin, Slovakia) and BBCE (Riga, Latvia). During 2023, more than 45 Master, Bachelor and Project students, including international students, completed their theses/research projects in our Institute. In addition, 3 doctoral theses were completed, and we received over the year more than 25 academic visitors and international students from many countries around the world. At the End-of-Year meeting 14 nationalities were present in another confirmation of the truly international character of our Institute. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
