Dr. Franziska Schmidt (Charité, Berlin) visits the Institute of Biomaterials
On 24th May, we received the visit of Dr. Franziska Schmidt head of the Dental Materials and Biomaterials Science (“zahnärztliche Werkstoffkunde und Biomaterialforschung”) research area, at the Department of Prosthodontics, Geriatric Dentistry and Craniomandibular Disorders, of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Dr. Schmidt is a principal investigator in the DFG funded Research Unit “Bioinspired anti-fatigue: enhancing materials science structure properties by abstracting naturally-grown fatigue resistance” (BioAntiFatigue), coordinated by Prof. Claudia Fleck at TU Berlin, and in which Prof. Boccaccini is also a principal investigator in collaboration with Dr. Irem Unalan. We discussed with Dr. Schmidt collaboration in the framework of the BioAntiFatigue Research Unit and planned future exchanges of samples and characterisation techniques.
