Visit from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
In the week of 17-21 June 2024 we received the visit of our colleagues from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece: Prof. Eleanna Kontonasaki (AUTh, Dental School) and Prof. Konstantinos Chrissafis (AUTh, School of Physics).
The visit was in the framework of the DAAD (Greek-German collaboration, IKYDA) project. Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Ms. Zoya Hadzhieva and Dr. Rainer Detsch hosted the Greek visitors, discussed the specific tasks of the project, and planned the final experimental work and preparation of scientific publications. During this stay, the Greek and German teams characterised the chitosan-based composite scaffolds developed in the project which are intended for tissue engineering applications. The Greek guests performed also scanning electron microscopy analysis of the organic-inorganic composite materials.
