Visit to Aristotle University Thessaloniki, Greece (DAAD – Greek-German collaboration)
As part of the DAAD funded project (Greek-German Cooperation, IKYDAAD) for the development of chitosan-based antimicrobial composite hydrogels (hydrogels with bioactive glass nanoparticles) for oral wound healing, Ms. Zhiyan Xu and Ms. Hannah Kissel (PhD students) visited our colleagues at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece. In the week from June 17 to 21, members of the research groups of Prof. Eleana Kontonasaki (AUTh, Dental School) and Prof. Dimitrios Bikiaris (AUTh, School of Chemistry) showed them the various laboratories of the Departments of Dentistry and Chemistry, in which they then carried out project-related experiments together, such as the production of chitosan patches using bioprinting. In the photos Zhiyan and Hannah with Dr. Maria Bousnak (left) and Mr. Thanos Christodoulou (right) in the lab of Department of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and with Rizos Bikiaris (right, PhD candidate) and Mr. Nikos Matchek in the lab of Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
