Best doctoral thesis award of the FAU Department of Materials Science and Engineering for Dr. Susanne Heid
We are happy to announce that Dr. Susanne Heid received the award for best doctoral thesis 2024 of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The Department recognizes two outstanding doctoral theses carried out in any of the nine Institutes of the Department in the previous year. Susanne earned her doctoral degree with a thesis entitled: “Alginate-based composite bioinks and thermoplastic polymers as biomaterials for sequential 3D printing of tissue constructs and bioreactors”, which she defended on 15.03.2024 and was carried out at the Institute of Biomaterials under supervision of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and in the frame of the DFG funded Collaborative Research Center SFB/TRR “From the fundamentals of biofabrication towards functional tissue models” (TRR 225). The award ceremony took place on 11th July 2024 as part of the Summer Party of the Department. Congratulations !
