Our participation at FEMS Junior EUROMAT 2024 in Manchester, UK
As President of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS), Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini attended the FEMS Junior EUROMAT conference held in Manchester, UK, on 15-18 July 2024, organised by the Inst. of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3). Prof. Boccaccini welcomed the attendees at the open ceremony and chaired the first Plenary session. He also was in the jury of the Best Master Thesis competition and took part in the awarding ceremony. He was also in charge of closing the conference on behalf of FEMS. Ms Andrada Damian-Buda, Master student carrying out her thesis in our Institute, attended the conference and presented the poster: “Injectable hydrogels containing essential oil-loaded mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles as bone void fillers”.
Prof. Boccaccini said: “Junior EUROMAT 2024 has been a fantastic conference, giving the opportunity to more than 180 enthusiastic early career materials researchers from across Europe and beyond to present fascinating talks and posters and to network with their peers. It was great to discuss their ideas and future career goals. After Junior EUROMAT 2024, I am convinced about the bright future of European materials science and engineering!”
