The 6th French-Brazilian Meeting on Polymers (FBPOL) took place on April 21-26 in Florianópolis, Brazil. The event, renowned for its success in previous editions, continued to serve as a premier platform for discussing the latest advances in polymeric systems. This year, notable participants included experts from Brazil, France, Japan, Taiwan, the USA, Hong Kong, China, and Portugal, among others. During this meeting, our PhD student Clara Dourado Fernandes, who is part of a cotutelle program between the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC)  in Brazil and FAU, was recognized for her outstanding poster presentation. Her research, co-supervised by Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini at the FAU Institute of Biomaterials, titled ” Enzymatically synthesized polypropylene succinate (PPSG) as a green plasticizer in electrospun mats for enhanced soft tissue regeneration,” focuses on the development of biocompatible materials for tissue regeneration. Clara uses poly(propylene succinate-co-glycerol succinate) (PPSG) in combination with poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) to create electrospun fibers for soft tissue engineering. The electrospun mats and bioactive glass particles used in this study were produced in our Institute. We congratulate Clara on this nice achievement!
