Active participation of our Institute at MSE 2024 Congress in Darmstadt
Our Institute had an active participation and contribution to the success of the Materials Science and Engineering MSE Congress (MSE 2024) held in Darmstadt, Germany, and in hybrid format on 24-26 September 2024, a conference organised by the DGM (German Society of Materials Science). Prof. Boccaccini was a coordinator of the Topic “Biomaterials” with Prof. Corneila Lee-Thedieck, University of Hannover, and Prof. Cecilia Persson (Uppsala University, Sweden). He also organised the symposium “Biomaterials Applications” with Prof. Sahar Salehi (University of Bayreuth), and he was the chair of several sessions during the conference. He also chaired one of the plenary sessions. Ms Zoya Hadzhieva, who recently receved her doctoral degree, presented the oral contribution: “Biopolymer-based coatings on metallic filters by electrophoretic deposition” as part of the EU funded project Nanobloc . Moreover, Ms. Sena Harmancı, Ph.D. student, presented the poster titled: “Boron and Zinc Doped Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles for Wound Healing Applications” and Dr. Vida Khalili, Alexander von Humboldt fellow and visiting researcher in our Institute, presented the poster: “How useful is biomimetic surface modification in DMEM in modulating biodegradation of Mg-based temporary orthopedic implants?”
