Annual meeting of EU (Horizon Europe) project Nanobloc(R) held in Erlangen on 2-3 December 2024
The Institute of Biomaterials hosted the annual meeting of the EU (Horizon Europe) project Nanobloc(R) (ANTIVIRAL, ANTIBACTERIAL & ANTIFUNGAL NANOCOATING PLATFORM) on 2-3 Dec 2024. Dr. Zoya Hadzhieva and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini welcomed the project consortium in presence in Erlangen. The project is coordinated by Prof. Monica Ferraris from Polytechnic of Turin, Italy, and includes academic and industrial partners from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Belgium. Our Institute is involved in the synthesis of antibacterial coatings by using sol-gel and electrophoretic deposition. All academic and industrial project partners took part in the meeting and discussed the future work on novel coatings for antibacterial and antiviral applications. After the meeting, several consortium members toured our laboratories. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under grant agreement nr. 101057597. The next meeting will take place in mid 2025 in Portugal.
