Assoc. Prof. Dana Rohanová, University of Chemistry and Technology of Prague, Czech Republic, visits the Institute of Biomaterials
Our Institute is hosting Assoc. Prof. Dana Rohanová from the Department of Glass and Ceramics at the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT), Prague, Czech Republic. Prof. Rohanová has high expertise in the characterization of a wide range of glasses, glass-ceramics and ceramic materials in contact with aqueous solutions. She has made contributions also to the study of archaeological glass and glass heritage. In this 3-month visit to our Institute, Prof. Rohanová will be involved in research activities in the field of bioactive testing of bioactive glass nanoparticles in collaboration with Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini and will deliver seminars to Master and PhD students in the field of acellular bioactivity tests of bioreactive materials. We have collaborated with Prof Rohanová for more than 15 years and have published several articles in collaboration (for example: [1], [2]). The current visit will serve as the basis for establishing a new collaboration with her team in the field of ion releasing bioreactive materials.
