Prof. Boccaccini chaired the first meeting in 2025 of the Management Committee of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS)
Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini chaired the first meeting of the year of the Management Committee of the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS), which took place online on 17th January 2025. Prof. Boccaccini is the president of FEMS for the period 2024-2025 and represents the German Materials Society (DGM) in the FEMS Board (since 2017). FEMS is a not-for profit association of European materials societies and associations covering several fields of materials science and engineering, including metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, glasses, nano and biomaterials in 22 different countries. The next large conference to be organised under the auspices of FEMS is EUROMAT 2025, which will take place in Granada, Spain on 14-18 September 2025, hosted by the Spanish Society of Materials, SOCIEMAT. The members of the FEMS Management Committee for the period 2024-25 are Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini (President), Prof. Anna Zervaki (Immediate Past president), Prof. Paula Vilarinho (Vice-president), Assoc. Prof. Frans Vos (FEMS Treasurer) (pictured) and Ms Efi Fragkou (FEMS Executive Secretary).
