Kick-off meeting of EU Project “EngVIPO” in Portugal

The kick-off meeting of the project “Engineering Vascularized Implants for Personalised Osteochondral Tissue Regeneration: From medical imaging to pre-clinical validation”, EngVIPO, funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Staff Exchanges 2023 (HORIZON-MSCA-2023-SE-01-01, ID: 101183041), took place on 27-28 January 2025 at the University of Minho in Guimarães, Portugal. The project involves an international consortium led by 3B’s Research Group, University of Minho (coordinator: Dr. Miguel Oliveira) in collaboration with partners from University of Kragujevac, Serbia, Friedrich-Alexander-University, Germany, University of Krakow, Poland, University of Granada, Spain, Sun Yat-sen University, China, Ti-com company, Poland, and a non-profit association from Portugal. During the meeting, the planning of the project activities and exchange of researchers, especially to be carried out in the first months were discussed. The project is focused on knowledge exchange and creation of research synergies on the development of innovative biomaterials and bioinks, emerging technologies, biobanks and personalized medicine, for the regeneration of injured/diseased osteochondral tissue. From our institute, Dr. Zoya Hadzhieva and Marcela Arango Ospina attended the meeting in presence and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini attended Online.
