General Assembly and Update Meeting of Collaborative Research Center (CRC 1540) “Exploring Brain Mechanics”

Prof. Boccaccini with Mr. Lorke and the two students

The General Assembly and Update Meeting of the DFG funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC 1540) “Exploring Brain Mechanics”  was held on 31st January 2025 in Erlangen. Prof. Boccaccini presented a summary of the progress in research project “X03: Engineering brain tissue-like matrices”, of which he is principal investigator and with contribution of Markus Lorke, PhD student on the project. CRC 1540 brings together engineers, physicists, biologists, medical researchers, and clinicians in Erlangen and Berlin to exploit mechanics-based approaches to advance our understanding of the funtion of the central nervous system and to provide, in the long term, the foundation for future improvement of diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.
