Visit from Kocaeli University, Turkey
On 14th February we received the visit of Associate Professor Egemen Avcu, Prof. Rıdvan Yamanoğlu and Prof. Abdulkadir Cengiz from the Department of Machine and Metal Technologies, Kocaeli University, Turkey. We had collaborated previously with Prof. Avcu on electrophoretic deposition of bioactive coatings on metallic susbtrates, which resulted in several publications, including a high impact review paper [1]. Prof. Avcu presented the talk “Graphite-reinforced compositionally graded Ti6Al4V matrix composites: microstructural and mechanical properties”. We discussed opportunities for new research collaborations in the general field of metallic biomaterials.
