Research in progress meeting of Research Unit “Bioinspired Anti-Fatigue”in Erlangen

Prof. Boccaccini with all the participants

The first research in progress meeting of the Research Unit “Bioinspired Anti-Fatigue” (FOR 5657, BIOAntiFatigue) in 2025 was organised by Dr. Irem Unalan and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini at the Institute of Biomaterials, FAU. It took place on 25th February with participation of all members of the Research Unit (some of them attending online). The Research Unit “Bioinspired Anti-Fatigue” is coordinated by Prof. Claudia Fleck from TU Berlin and it is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project focuses on investigating structure-property relations of natural material systems with evolutionarily optimised fatigue resistance. At the meeting in Erlangen, the latest results obtained in the four projects that constitute the Research Unit were presented and discussed. The participants also toured the laboratories of our Institute.
