Development of a novel system for 3D printing with hydrogel bioinks and evaluation of its viability for generation of tissue like structures
Betreuer: Dr. Rainer Detsch, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini
This project is evaluating different parameters of a novel bioink extrusion system to develop 3D printing scaffolds by biofabrication, focusing on the effects on cell viability. The ideal conditions for velocity and pressure for the hydrodynamic forces that will ensure high cell viability in the design of a bioink extruder system are determined, taking into account the rheological properties of the biomaterials used and the relevant geometrical parameters for the design of a coaxial nozzle. A set of experiments following a factorial protocol and a variance analysis of 3 geometric combinations for coaxial nozzles, using 3 different pressures will be performed. Alginate based hydrogels [1] are used as model bioink system.
