Modification of Porous Layer on Dense Dual-phase Oxygen Separation Membrane by Electrophoretic Deposition
Supervisor in Erlangen: Prof. Dr. Aldo R. Boccaccini
Supervisor in Japan: Prof. Dr. Tetsuo Uchikoshi
This research project is developing oxygen separation membranes. In this study, a dual phase oxygen separation membrane was fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) process [1]. After the successful fabrication of dual phase membranes, the next objective of this research study is to improve the oxygen separation performance. Increasing the oxygen exchange activities on the membrane surface by using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process to deposit a high oxygen permeability material on the surface of the fabricated membrane is an objective of this project in FAU Institute of Biomaterials.
