Development and characterisation of drug loaded ion doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles

Dr Hana Kaňková is a visiting researcher within the EU-funded (H2020) FunGlass project based at Alexander Dubcek University of Trencin, Slovakia. Her research activities will focus on the synthesis of mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles doped with therapeutic ions. Prepared powders will be tested for the drug loading capacity and the release of drug in the selected medium studied under conditions relevant for selected applications. As an ongoing research, ion release testing and elemental analysis of the leachate will be completed at the FunGlass center.
