Fabrication and characterization of polycaprolactone-based electrospun fiber mats containing phytotherapeutic agents for wound healing
Betreuer: Irem Ünalan, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini
For centuries, plant-derived phytotherapeutic agents have been used to treat bacterial infections due to their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, making them suitable for wound healing. For use in the field of wound healing, phytotherapeutic agents can be incorporated in electrospun fibers to improve their volatility and instability. This bachelor thesis project aims to fabricate and characterize a new family of PCL and PCL-natural polymer fiber mats by the electrospinning method incorporating phytotherapeutic agents to enhance antibacterial properties.
